John & Brittany Wedding {Walloon Lake, MI}

This past June, my cousin Brittany, along with my four sisters stood by my side as I married the man I love. She was a happy, helpful presence as I had always imagined she would be. Five and a half months later I had the joy of doing the same with her. Britt and I have always been close. We were born a few months apart and, even though she always lived 15+ hours away in Michigan - each reunion was just as full of laughter and hugs and general jubilee as the last. She and her whole family are some of our favorite people in the world. Not many places we go as a family are more full of joy and merriment then when you get us all together. Now I could go on into a paragraph or so of witty sentences full of inside jokes that would mean nothing to you. It's hard to resist, because, well...we're preeetty hysterical and it would introduce you to our years and years of fun-filled relationships. I'm going to refrain for now and move along to Britt's wedding day. :)

While I was a bridesmaid, I still did some of the photography. Abbie and I shared the job. Most credit goes to Abbie who pretty much carried the day while I was off being in pictures as well as trying to be a maid to the bride. Bill got a few good ones during the ceremony and I was taking some when I could. Either way, I had to share the day with you. :)

This is Rachel, Brittany's sister and her daughter Emma. Rachel is married and has two sweet kids. They're wonderful and we had a great time with them this weekend.

Meet John and the groomsmen. We haven't had the chance to get to know John very well, but from everything we can tell, he's seems like a great guy. He cares for Brittany so well and thoughtfully loves her.

Finally, the ceremony! John and Brittany waited so patiently for this day and couldn't have been much happier.

I love these two that Bill took through the tree.

Brittany wrote a song for John to sing on their wedding day. Britt has a beautiful voice and has always sung- it was so sweet and a great part of the day.

They asked if I could do more traditional photography for the wedding. We did a lot of formals at the front of the church. It was a less familiar challenge, but something I am always happy to do. We wer happy with how they came out. I love the Christmas decorations too. They really looked amazing!
